Help Change someones life

So yesterday I was driving through Norwood in Cincinnati on my way back up to Dayton. As I was sitting at a stop light I noticed a man sitting at the bus stop. Next to him was a shopping bag. He was taking off the tags of a pair of socks and double layering them on top on the ones he already had one. The weather had taken a turn for the cold during the evening hours. While I was sitting there I began to cry and had to look away. I don't know his story. He could have been just walking around and gotten cold, but was on his way to his warm house. Or, he could be a homeless man spending his last dollar to get a pair of socks to keep warm through the night.

I am a volunteer at a place called the Good Neighbor House. At this non profit organization we give clothing to those who need it. You can be homeless or housed. We give food and household items to those who are housed and refer the homeless to places that will feed them warm meals. After witnessing the situation I did last night it made me very proud to be volunteering in an organization that clothes the needy. I encourage anyone who is reading this to please reach out to those organizations in your community who help those men, women and children who need clothing throughout the year. I also encourage you to speak out and donate to these causes. You can make a difference in someones life, with a little effort.
